Side Effects | ||
Advantage Multi® Topical Solution is generally well tolerated in dogs when given at the usual dose. Stiff hair, a damp appearance of the hair, or a powdery residue may be observed at the application site. There are very few side effects when the drug is given a the usual dose. The following side effects have been reported with the use of Advantage Multi® Topical Solution: temporary hairloss and slight inflammation or scabs at or near the application site, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, lethargy, and itchiness. Ensure that the dog does not ingest the product. Ingestion of this product may cause serious adverse reactions including depression, salivation, dilated pupils, incoordination, panting, and generalized muscle tremors. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian. | ||
Cautions For topical use only. Avoid oral ingestion. For the first 30 minutes after application ensure the dog cannot lick the product from the application sites on themselves or other treated animals. Children should not come in contact with the application site for 2 hours after application. Product is highly flammable. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flame, or other sources of ignition. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. | ||
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
