Product Information
Atopica® for Cats Oral Solution is a non-steroidal treatment for control of feline allergic dermatitis. Allergic dermatitis is caused by sensitivity to allergens in the environment, such as dust mites, pollen or mold spores. Diet can also affect the condition. Atopica® for Cats affects the immune cells responsible for itchy allergic reactions to a variety of different substances and relieves itching and skin lesions.

Usage
Atopica® should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. Administer directly on a small amount of food or orally just after feeding. Package includes a dispensing system with complete instructions on how to assemble the system and dose the medication. Wear gloves when administering and wash hands after handling.
Do not rinse or clean the oral dosing syringe between uses. Store the oral dosing syringe in the plastic tube between each use. 
Once opened, use the contents within 8 weeks for the 5 ml bottle and 11 weeks for the 17 ml bottle.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
Side effects may include loss of appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea. Your pet may also experience liver and kidney problems. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following drugs can potentially interact with cyclosporine: acetazolamide, allopurinol, amlodipine, antibiotics, carvedilol, cimetidine, ciprofloxacin/enrofloxacin, corticosteroids, digoxin, erythromycin, gentamicin, ketoconazole, methotrexate, metoclopramide, metronidazole, omeprazole, phenobarbital, and phenytoin. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication or supplements you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. 
Cautions
Atopica® is not for use in breeding , pregnant or lactating cats. Do not use Atopica® if your pet has a history of cancer. Do not use in cats infected with feline leukemia virus (FeLV) or feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
Human Exposure Warning
This medication may represent a hazard to males or females who are actively trying to conceive, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and women who are breast feeding, because it may be present in breast milk. Unopened, intact tablets and capsules may not pose the same degree of risk as injectable drugs that usually require extensive preparation. Cutting, crushing, or otherwise manipulating tablets and capsules will increase the risk of exposure. Wear gloves while handling this medication. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling this medication.

Storage
Store at 59°F to 77°F in controlled room temperature. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
