Usage |
Bravecto® Chews should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. This medication should be administered at every 12 week intervals, year-round to guarantee protection from fleas and ticks. For dogs over 123 lbs, use the appropriate combination of these chews to ensure complete protection against fleas and ticks. Remove chew from foil-blistered card when you are ready to give it to your dog. Offer to the dog with a small amount of dog food or a treat. Bravecto® Chews should be administered with food to ensure proper absorption of the medication. Make sure the entire chew is consumed. Missed Doses Give the dose as soon as you remember, unless it is time for the next dose. Do not double dose. If your dog has missed a dose please consult with your veterinarian. |
Side Effects |
Bravecto® Chews are generally well tolerated in dogs when given at the usual dose and with food. There are very few side effects when the drug is given a the usual dose. The following side effects have been reported with the use of Bravecto® Chews: vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea, lethargy, polydipsia, and flatulence. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian. |

Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Bravecto® Chews have not been shown to be effective for 12-weeks' duration in puppies less than 6 months of age. Bravecto® Chews are not effective against Lone Star ticks beyond 8 weeks after dosing. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty aeathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching. |
