Clavamox® Chewable
Product Information
Clavamox® is a broad-spectrum antibiotic for treatment of bacterial infections now available in a highly palatable pork-liver-flavored chewable. Clavamox® combines amoxicillin, a synthetic penicillin-type antibiotic, with clavulanate potassium, a beta-lactamase inhibitor to protect the antibiotic from certain enzymes that may destroy the amoxicillin.

Usage
Clavamox® should be given orally with food as directed by your veterinarian. Do not remove from foil strip until ready to use. Give the complete course of therapy, even if your pet seems better. Missing doses or stopping therapy early may result in treatment failure.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
Side effects may include stomach upset, such as diarrhea and vomiting. If this occurs try giving the medication with food. These symptoms may go away during treatment. If these symptoms continue, contact your veterinarian. 
Drug & Food Interactions
Inform your veterinarian prior to use of this medication what other medication you are giving to your pet. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. 
Cautions
Clavamox® is not for use in animals with penicillin or cephalosporin allergies.
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.

Storage
Store in a dry, cool place at temperatures not above 77°F. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
