Onsior® Tablets

Product Information

Onsior® is a coxib-type non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat inflammation and pain in dogs and cats. This drug is often used before and after surgical procedures because robenacoxib targets inflamed tissues.

Dogs and Cats (weighing more than 5.5 lbs and are 4 months of age and older)

Onsior® is used in dogs and cats for the relief of pain and inflammation before and after surgical procedures for a maximum of 3 days.

Active Ingredients

Side Effects

Side effects may include anorexia (lack of appetite), lethargy, depression, vomiting, diarrhea, kidney disease, and kidney failure. Bleeding or infection at the incision site is also possible. Notify your veterinarian if side effects appear and remain troublesome.

Other side effects may occur, if you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

Onsior® Tablets should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian.  Should be given as a whole tablet, tablets are not designed to be broken. Can be given for up to a maximum of three total doses over three days, not to exceed one dose per day. DO NOT give the pet more medicine than directed and do not give more often than directed. DO NOT use tablets intended for dogs in cats. Cats cannot be accurately dosed with the tablets intended for dogs.  Only use tablets intended for cats when needed for cats.

Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Robenacoxib should not be used in dogs exhibiting previous hypersensitivity to robenacoxib. Robenacoxib should not be administered with any other NSAIDs or corticosteroids. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
