ThunderEase® Calming Collar (Powered by Adaptil®)

ThunderEase® Calming Collar (Powered by Adaptil®) helps alleviate fear and stress related signs in puppies and adult dogs by mimicking the natural canine appeasing pheromone which is proven to help support dogs in a range of stressful situations. When the ThunderEase® Calming Collar (Powered by Adaptil®) is in snug contact with the dog’s skin, the dog’s body temperature warms the collar and encourages the diffusion of pheromones into the local environment.

Analogue of Dog Pheromone (5%)

Refer to images on inner foil packaging: Place your finger inside the plastic loop and pull the thin plastic away to uncoil the collar, this piece can be discarded.  Thread the end of the collar through the buckle and place over your dog's head.  Tighten the collar snugly so it fits against your dog's body, but loose enough to slide one to two fingers underneath.  Squeeze the collar onto the buckle area to lock the collar in place. 

Your dog's own body heat helps release the pheromone in the collar, therefore it must be worn as closely as is comfortable, allowing two fingers' width between the collar and your dog's neck. Once you've attached the collar, you can trim off the excess at the end of the collar if needed

It is recommended that you keep the collar on your dog at all times, except when bathed or exposed to significant amounts of water (ie: going swimming).  The collar will stop diffusing if wet, however it will begin working again once it is dry.  

ThunderEase® Calming Collar (Powered by Adaptil®) has no known serious side-effects when the collar is used in conjunction with other pet medications. If skin irritation or allergy appears, remove collar and use an alternative form of ThunderEase® (Powered by Adaptil®). If your pet is using this product for the first time please watch for any allergic reactions that might occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

There are no documented drug interactions with ThunderEase® Calming Collar (Powered by Adaptil®). Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

The ThunderEase® Calming Collar (Powered by Adaptil®)is not recommended for cases of hyperactivity or aggression. It will have no effect if the behavior is un-related to stress. Do not use on dogs with extensive skin lesions. Never attach a leash to an ThunderEase® Calming Collar (Powered by Adaptil®). Do not open the protective pouch until the collar is ready for use. Do not expose the collar to chlorinated pools or shampoos, it will deactivate the collar. Other dogs in the household will be affected by the D.A.P. and may become too interested in the dog wearing the collar. For multi-dog households it is recommended that all dogs use an ThunderEase® Calming Collar (Powered by Adaptil®) or have a ThunderEase® Calming Diffuser (Powered by Adaptil®) used in the home.

Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; widespread hives and itching.

Store in controlled room temperature. Keep this out of reach of children and pets. Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store in pouch until ready to use. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places.
